The Prayer Shawl Ministry began in September of 2010 at St. Aloysius Parish. Since then, over 600 Shawls have been lovingly made and distributed all over the World! Locations include; Australia, India, the UK, Hawaii, Japan, and across Canada from BC to P.E.I.
The Shawls support many people who need prayers including Men, Women, Children, Babies and Mothers to be.
Along with the Prayer Shawls, the group distributes Immaculate Medals provided by the Legion of Mary. Hundreds of Prayer Patches have been prepared for Children receiving their First Holy Communion as well as to newly Baptized children.
The Ministry also supports local Community Groups including the St. Aloysius Food Pantry, The House of Friendship, Ray of Hope and the Salvation Army to help provide warm hats, mittens, and scarves. The group is helping to make a big difference in the Community through their uplifting Ministry.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is currently not meeting, but they are busy making scarves at home to be donated to those in need this Fall and Winter in the Community.
If you would like to participate, please let us know by calling our Parish Office. They can also provide wool and needles if needed!
